Summer is upon us, but not even the heat and humidity can squelch the Spirit of God moving through and among our church family as we gather to worship Him!

As always, please feel welcome to contact any member of the Praise Team for lyrics, guitar tabs, etc.  We look forward to a summer of sunny morning worship with you all!

The situation still remains tense here. Around 4pm, one of our neighbors was shot. . . . Because we are barricaded in, there are no doctors and so no one is sure how best to take care of him. Thankfully, doctors are slowly starting to come into Osh. Now the question will be how best to get the medical aid to those who need it the most. . . .

. . . Despite this, life has turned into some weird sort of normalcy. In our area, there is now a neutral zone with a check point
for one vehicle to go between our neighborhood and the center of the city. You apparently must show your passport in order to go thru the checkpoint. We’ve become our own little country. Within our neighborhood, though, people can move around during the day with relative freedom. In fact, for the first time in 5 days, I was able to walk a little bit around our neighborhood. . . .

On June 15, 2010, NHF wired $38,400 to S. & H.’s States-side account.  This sum — a combination of special love-offerings from NHF members and a giving from NHF’s Missions & Outreach budget — will help S. & H. make their final land payment on their business’ property.  Thank you, everyone, for your beautiful generosity and investment in the spiritual future of this nation in Central Asia.

Here is a response from S.:

Wow! Wow! Wow! I just don’t know what to say. New Hope’s generosity is simply amazing! Thank you so much New Hope.  You are getting our updates so you know that we are doing well. It’s been busy, but we feel used by God during these dark days.  Our land payments will be pushed back a bit, but we are so thankful that you are with us through it all.  Thanks again and many huge blessings to you.

Dear friends,

We had blood tests done this morning and they showed that both of us have Dengue Fever, not just the flu.  Please pr for us!

In response to the recent, very urgent updates from our friends S. & H. in Central Asia, our brother Robert N. has decided to make this a day of prayer & fasting for and with them, even in the midst of his “normal” work day.

Robert has asked me to invite any and all to join him today, in thanksgiving, petition, pleading & prayer.

And as I myself have been praying, Psalm 91 comes to mind . . .

1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
9Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—
10
no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12
On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13
You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

However the Lord leads you today, let’s be on our knees for S. & H.., their family, their friends & neighbours, and their adopted nation.

Dear [ ] Partners,

Is it really possible that 2010 is already halfway over?! They say that time flies by faster as you get older. Well, we must be getting older since our last F&D Day seemed like it was last month and not six months ago! Thanks to all of you who have taken the time from your busy schedules to join us on this special day to lift up the work here in Central Asia. In light of what has happened in our city these past few days, this P&F day is very strategic for the work here . . .

Given the extremely sensitive & confidential nature of S. & H.’s situation, we ask that if you would like to commit to pr’ing for our friends today or in the coming week, please contact Catherine C. for a detailed list of requests & needs.
