Welcome to the NHF Blog! You’ll find all the latest church news and announcements here. Click on through to read Pastor Edward’s inaugural post.

Dear NHF,

It has always been something for me to see the ingenuity of our congregation. Whenever there’s a need, someone has stepped forward with a way to meet it. Sometimes that’s taken the form of wood and nails, and other times mp3 players and digital readers. Most recently, we wanted to create a more intimate feeling during our Sunday service. We looked at industrial methods, but they were bulky and expensive. So Young, Chae, and Kyu came up with a cordoning mechanism that clips onto the pew. Light, cheap, efficient and effective (all it took was a trip to Home Depot and 2 degrees from MIT).

Whatever the need, we’ve always found our own creative solutions. One of our great needs is more connection within New Hope. I’ve always thought how great it would be if everyone just lived 20 miles closer. Of course, where God has placed us is where we need to be. But, surely there are ways of fostering fellowship and encouragement across the range of where we live? This New Hope blog is our digital cordoning mechanism. Think of it as a gathering space where spiritual needs can be met through mutual support in Christ.

Proximity helps connection, but we all know it does not create it. Communication forms the bonds of community, so it is our hope that you will take advantage of this channel. Our prayer is that, like our place of worship, God’s presence would abide here. It may be just data and computer code, but a church building is just wood and concrete. It is the people that make it a temple. For wherever, and however, two or more gather, in His Name, there He is with them. May this blog help us behold and broadcast Him.

God’s love,

Pastor Edward
