The tickets for the June 5th concert at the Roseland Ballroom can be purchased at www.livenation.com.  There are no group sale for this event.

In one day, John’s post about Hillsong has become the number one visited post on nhfnews. John, you better spread the news regarding where to get tickets or else it might get ugly! As you can see from the screenshot below, every single referral to our blog from a search engine was targeted at Hillsong. I can feel the desperation from here…

Dear brothers and sisters of New Hope,

I just want to let you all know that Hillsong United is coming to New York City on June 5th (Friday).  They will be leading worship at the Roseland Ballroom (52nd and Broadway).  Let me know if you want to go.  The ticket cost is $35.

John.

WARNING:  There will be some serious physical activities involved (see video below from a night of worship in Argentina). =)

John H. sends us a heads-up on a local bus driver that’s served 70,000 meals since 2004. Humbling.

Did You Know?

March 25, 2009

This is a dramatic presentation on the rapid pace of technological development and it’s potential impact on society. What do these facts imply for the Great Commission?

The equity markets rallied several percent after the latest bailout plan announcement, but the little people are often concerned with more important things:

  1. Is the milk in this carton still good?
  2. Where can I get cheap gas?

For those of you looking to retain your expensive undergraduate and graduate education, check out Academic Earth. This website is similar to Hulu, but for freely available course lectures. The service aggregates material from MIT, Stanford, Yale, etc. Linear algebra? Check. History of the Civil War? Check. Ancient Greek Civilization? Check. Entrepreneurship? Check. Academic Earth has it all!

The site features ratings for each course and there are plans to improve viewer interaction. I’ve used iTunes to download a few videos from courses from iTunesU (both services actually offer many of the same courses), but Academic Earth is easier to use. Syllabus and quiz materials are also offered on the site.

Now all we need is something similar for sermons and lectures! (though the Gospel Coalition website is pretty close).

Excerpts from a note from our friends D. & J., in Beijing:

Thanks for all your pr’s as my US trip last week, despite exhausting, was relatively smooth and rewarding. … [the] primary reason for this US trip was to update Lausanne of the China situation (very positive time), [and] I was also able to bring [a HC leader] for a few days of sharing. … We had over a dozen [speaking engagements] / meetings in 5 days with a sense of great interest and response for the work in China.
